Premier League club Arsenal are willing to pay the $46.5m price tag Italian club Sassuolo are quoting for midfielder Manuel Locatelli, even though the midfielder who impressed and won the delayed Euro2020 with Italy wants to sign for Juventus.

According to Italian football journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano Juventus will offer around $35m but Locatelli is willing to join them. Juventus made contact with Sassuolo last week but there was no agreement reached and further talks will be held this week.

The 23year old helped Sassuolo to finish eight on last season's Italian Serie A table and was named in Roberto Mancini's squad to the European Championship. He played five games and scored two goals, both coming against Switzerland in the group stage.

Arsenal are looking to improve their squad for the upcoming 2021/22 English Premier League season and hope to sign Locatelli. They have signed 21year old midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from Belgium and have also agreed a fee for Ben White.
