In 2012, he was 16 years old and was impressing everybody with his performances in Brazil youth teams. Him being a product of Sao Paulo academy and his position as an attacking midfielder gave him the nickname of the new Kaka, and those were the expectations placed on him.

His quality at that time was rewarded with a transfer to Chelsea. But sadly for him, he could never settle in England and the club sent him on loan many times. Seven times, actually. He was part of Chelsea's loan army and never had the consistency he needed to develop as a player.

That player is Lucas Piazon, who has just left the English club as a free agent and joined Sporting Braga permanently after his loan with Rio Ave, also from Liga NOS, ended. He could play only three matches for the Blues, all of them in the first season that actually was of some weeks, and just one of those was for Premier League.

His first loan was in Spain, at Malaga. Then he went to Netherlands and joined Vitesse, having his best season (11 goals in 29 matches). A Bundesliga spell at Eintracht Frankfurt followed, and after that he played at Championship for Reading (two seasons) and Fulham, After failing in Serie A with Chievo Verona, he moved to Portugal and performed well in Rio Ave, the last of his loans.
