There are many soccer players who arrive to two European clubs, gain fortunes every season and perform incredibly, but are not as professional as there are supposed to be. One of those cases was recently revealed, and it involves a player who spent two seasons at Real Madrid, after the Spanish club paid $30 million for him.
He is Wesley Sneijder, the Dutch offensive midfielder who arrived on August 2007 from Ajax to the Galacticos and left exactly two years later. He played aside top idols as Sergio Ramos, Rául González and Iker Casillas, but he couldn’t learn from them something very important: the discipline needed to play at one of the best clubs in the world.

Sneijder himself has recently launched his autobiography and revealed that he had problems with drinking when he was at Real Madrid. According to his words, the bottle of vodka transformed into his best friend and, even though he could still play well, he was not in his best physical form and was not concentrated as he should.
Friends from his national team, as Arjen Robben and Ruud Van Nistelrooy alerted him about his situation. Every day, Sneijder reunited with Guti, his teammate, and went out at night. Finally, he left to Inter and then passed through Galatasaray, Niza and Al-Gharafa SC before retirement.
