Sometimes soccer life can lead to an undesired retirement. That is the case of players who struggle with injuries, who can’t handle their personal life outside of the club, or sometimes, when they can’t find a new team and are free agents after some certain age. Now, a historic defender who played two World Cups for Mexico could suffer the same.

After playing for Pachuca since 2004 to 2011, and for Club América from 2011 until now, Paul Aguilar is facing the chance of retiring from soccer since he is now a free agent. After transfer markets start to close, he is still looking for a new club. His only possible destination could be the MLS.

Aguilar is on his way to turn 35 years old next March 6 and is currently surfing through different options. Mexican journalist Jonatan Peña has stated in his twitter account that the right-back is also considering retiring from the activity. Again, he assures the likeliest possibility to find a club is in MLS. A fan replied to his tweet mentioning he bumped into Aguilar and he was interested in getting involves in car dealerships.

He has made his debut for the Mexican national team in 2009, playing a friendly match against Colombia. He played the 2010 World Cup’s opening match against South Africa, as well as the four matches the team played in Brazil 2014. He scored five goals in 55 games with the green, white and red jersey.
