Thinking on the next season, FC Barcelona is already trying to figure out who could be the signings. As the club is under a financial crisis, many of the players that are rumored to arrive, are free agents that could move with no cost during the next summer. Nevertheless, it is also thought that the Catalan side will try to invest some money.

During the last hours it was reported that Barça could sign an Argentinian defender who Lionel Messi knows well and wants to help Gerard Piqué on defense. He is Lisandro Martínez, the 22 years old who plays for Ajax and has a reported value of $20 million, according to specialized website Transfermarkt.

Martínez was born in Argentina and is one of the most talented defenders from that country. He formed himself in Newell’s, the same club as Messi, and then played for Defensa y Justicia. On July 2019, Ajax decided to pay almost $9 million for him in an historical transfer for the Argentinian side.

Ronald Koeman has also approved the arrival of the defender, as Catalan press reports. Now, both clubs should negotiate as the contract of the player expires on June 2023 and Barcelona wants him for the next season. Paying a fortune is not an option but giving some players in exchange could be a good plan.
