FC Barcelona is now facing a dramatic time, after the departure of president Josep María Bartomeu. With elections set to be made in December, the club is already working to improve in the future and to not repeat errors from the past. One of the objectives to what’s coming is a top Manchester City defender.

Aged 19, Eric García is the one pointed out by Barcelona. The Spanish player was formed at La Masía but left to Manchester City as a youth, when the English club paid just $2 million for him. Just three years after that, Barcelona is trying to sign once again García and planning how to do it.

First, Spanish press assure that García’s arrival is key as the sports advisers from the club think that they need a reinforcement in that zone of the field. Secondly, Messi has already given his approval to his arrival and, both club and legend consider that his sign is a must.

García has played just four matches during the season under Pep Guardiola’s mandate. His contract with the club ends on January 2021, and he wants to go back to Barça, reasons why the transfer could be made for less amount of money than what it’s supposed. Barcelona could be paying just $10 million for a player whose actual value is near the $30 million, as he could be free during the next year.
