Lionel Messi is set to leave FC Barcelona. 15 years of fantastic moments are coming to an end, and it will be difficult to imagine the Argentinian player and the Catalan club without each other. But something has to be done, and Ronald Koeman braced himself for the unknown future.

The destiny of the GOAT and top scorer for one club in the world is unknown, having Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Inter Miami CF as options, but the only thing closest to the sure is that he will leave when his contract expires on June 30th. And literally on the next day, someone else will join Barça.

That signing is Eric Garcia, who will sign as a free agent from Manchester City. The Spanish defender will come to strengthen a vulnerable defence, that will need someone with his vitality and his passing abilities. He was called a new Gerard Pique, and wants to follow that path when the historic center back is not there anymore.

Garcia, who has recently turned 20, is a senior international with Spain and a product of La Masia, FC Barcelona academy. He will found a team a little more conflicted than it was when he left, but Eric hopes to be part of the reconstruction to take the club back to the top heights in Europe and the world.
