From the Era of Zidane, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, the derby attracts a lot of attraction both in the media and physically. The big names in both clubs are definitely the reason for this, not actually the clubs themselves.

The absence of extra-ordinary superstar has reduced the match to just another match in La Liga. Not only is the game without superstars and big names but it's not a trophy deciding match.

Superstars do attract superstars and that was the case in the era of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Sergio Ramos. The match has a heavy presence of superstars and celebrities across the globe.
