Drenthe: from shining with Cristiano Ronaldo to going bankrupt for this lousy business

What happened to Royston Drenthe? When he arrived to Real Madrid from Feyenoord he was a star. The team paid over $15 million dollars to sign him in 2007 and the fans strongly believed that he would be the left-back for at least the next six or seven years.

The truth is that he only last three years and then he signed for Hercules FC. After a long career moving from club to club he ended up in Murcia, at the third division of Spanish Football. Now, he is going bankrupt and he told the media the main reason of this low performance.

He said that the youth players needed to be careful about the agents. Apparently, that was the main reason his bankruptcy. He said that he was cheated with his salary, they told him that he was going to earn almost $2 million dollars the first season and then the money was not there.

On the other hand, he did not seem to be really worried about the situation. In his last interview Drenthe said that he was not sure about what was going on but also that it was not really serious. The Dutch player does not care about money anymore.
