Club América: the 5 possible signings that could reach Liga MX
The Mexican side is interested on signing some interesting players for the next campaign.
Club America completed a good regular season, in which they ended third on the tournament Guard1anes after earning 32 points out of 17 matches played. But when playing the final round, they lost their key games against Chivas, 1-0 the first one and 2-1 the second one.
The team coached by Miguel Herrera also lost against Atlanta United the second game of the quarter-finals of the Concacaf, but due to the difference of the first match they qualified and will be playing now the semifinals against LAFC. Despite the results, America is trying to make a more competitive squad for the next season and this are some of the players they are looking forward to sign.
The first one is the Argentinian Tomás Chancalay, winger aged 21 that plays for Colón and is very near to move soon. Another who appears in the radar is Alan Medina, midfielder that Toluca asked $6 million to let out, when his reported value at specialized website Transfermarkt arrives just to $1 million.
Even though it was rumored that Carlos Vela was also an option, his economic pretentions are impossible for America to fulfill. The last three that complete the list of possible signings that the Liga MX side could make for the next campaign are: Pedro Aquino (León), Luis Quiñones (Tigres) and Fabián Castillo (Club Tijuana).
The dream of Carlos Vela
It was rumored that there were several chances for Carlos Vela to join America for the next season. Even though it was a wish of many fans from the Mexican side, it was far away from reality. Head coach Herrera himself recognized that such a thing was impossible, as the attacker is at LAFC MLS side gaining a fortune per year.
