Santiago Solari and Club América are looking for new talent for the squad, and the coach has placed his eyes in a man he knows perfectly well from his years coaching Real Madrid. The Argentinian has especially asked the board to look after the name he placed over the table. Negotiations seem to be on the right track.
Speaking to TUDN, America’s sporting director Santiago Baños recognized they are working to close the deal for a player who was requested by Solari. The target has played in Real Madrid, mainly in the youth divisions, and could be the new asset for the Eagles.
The expected signing is 23-year-old Álvaro Fidalgo, who played in Real Madrid’s academy team, and is currently part of Second Division side Castellón. Born in Oviedo city, Fidalgo is a midfielder who has played for the Spanish Under-17 national team in the past. He’s played 22 games in the season for his team.
Before coming closer to Fidalgo, América will have to get rid of the ‘Non-Raised’ players to make a spot available for him. To do so, they are likely to have to release Colombia’s Andrés Ibargüen or Paraguay’s Sergio Díaz. They recently have discarded inscribing Chile’s Nicolás Castillo.
