Due to poor results in the last few games -they have lost three games in the last four weeks-, Cruz Azul is in fourth place in the Liga MX. In case they are defeated in the last match, they will lose the possibility to qualify directly to the next stage of the tournament and will have to play the play-offs.

Thereto, team coached by Robert Siboldi is going through tough times. In the last five games, the Mexican club have only scored two goals, which were scored by the forward Jonathan Rodriguez. The Uruguayan is in great shape and attracting a lot of attention from European clubs.

This is why the executives of Cruz Azul are already thinking about footballers to replace Rodriguez. Meanwhile, the Argentinian forward Lucas Passerini, who is one of the most important players of Necaxa, said he is willing to return to La Maquina. The Mexican club has to decide on Rodríguez's future.

The 26-year-old Argentine signed a contract with Cruz Azul in early 2020. However, a few months later he went to Necaxa on loan. At Cruz Azul, he has only played six games and scored two goals. Will he have the opportunity to return and show his great talent?
