Carlos Vela appeared once in the radar of FC Barcelona. The Mexican played for Real Sociedad and wanted to leave, when head coach Ernesto Valverde, who has at Barcelona on those days, recognized that the signing of the attacker was a possibility. The transfer didn’t occur and Vela finally left to the MLS.

But, how far was Vela from joining Barcelona? Valverde said that he was closed but, as the chance appeared when the transfer window was closed, it was impossible. With this present of Barcelona it is hard to think on Vela going back to Europe now and it seems to be that the chance was something of the past.

Nevertheless, many fans say in social media that Vela could go once again to Europe to try at his 31 years old. Even though many consider him old already, he can try in a team a step down than Barcelona. Real Sociedad, for example, is a club where he played and where fans could receive him very well.

Vela is playing for MLS side LAFC since January 2018, when he was signed for more than $7 million. When he was at Europe, he played for Real Sociedad, Arsenal, West Bromwich, Osasuna, Salamanca and Celta de Vigo. Outside Europe, he only played for two teams: Chivas and LAFC.
