Tomorrow, Manchester United's playmaker and most important player, Bruno Fernandes, will captain the team in the Champions League debut against Paris Saint Germain. The reason is that Harry Maguire will be out due to an injury. But this change made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer points to the right direction. Manchester United should remain this way.

The win over Newcastle United this weekend shouldn't make the United fans to forget that the had lost 1-6 in Old Trafford to Tottenham Hotspurs last week. Also, they have had an embarrassing defeat against Crystal Palace three weeks ago, also at home. In that game, while Harry Maguire kept silent, Bruno showed what a captain is.

After Palace scored, he yelled at Lindelöf because his failure derived in Palace's goal. Later on, he showed himself mad during the loss to Tottenham and was awkwardly replaced early in the second half, arguably after a fight with Solskjaer in the dressing rooms. Meanwhile, Harry Maguire was silent and played bad, to say the least.

Bruno Fernandes has been by far United's best player in 2020. Inside the field, he has been the soul of the team. Also -and very importantly- Paul Pogba, whose low level usually is related to confidence to his teammates, relays on Fernandes and respect him. Maguire arrived at United just a year before Bruno, has nothing to do with ManU, is playing really bad and has shown he is not ready to lead this time. If Ole wants to regain this squad's confidence -and the fans love-, Fernandes should remain as captain for the rest of the season.
