After the confirmation of the transfer of Lucas Torreria by Atletico de Madrid, the Mexican player Hector Herrera would have asked to leave the club. The MLS would be the league that Herrera would have chosen to continue his career outside of Atletico de Madrid.

The arrival of Torreira after his time at Arsenal leaves Hector Herrera without a place in Diego Simeone's starting team. The Mexican midfielder would have already communicated to the club his desire to find another destination. Simeone would have given him the OK to find a new club.

Torreira came to Atletico de Madrid as a player on loan but with the possibility of buying him for more than 20 million Euros. The Uruguayan player was one of the promises of the Gunners team but lately his level was not as expected. Simeone is confident that Torreira will regain his level and can help Atletico de Madrid to win the Spanish League.

For his part, Herrera at 30 years old wants to continue his career in MLS where he could share a team with several of his compatriots. Everything seems to be closed for the Mexican midfielder to play in the MLS, although it is not yet known which team is interested in hiring him.
