If we must rank the biggest or the wealthiest clubs in the world there are no doubts that Manchester City, Barcelona and Manchester United will be in the list. They are among the most powerful teams in the world, and therefore, they can invest lots of fortunes in the transfer market, in new stadiums and many more things. But you know what? That does not necessarily mean that all the deals are they doing the market are good business.

Since 2016 until now the clubs have spent lots of money an earned extraordinarily little. All of them register huge losses. Manchester City has been under control of very wealthy owners for the last decade they are for they have sold players for €375 million which are equal to $453 million, but they have spent $1.21 billion, which represents losses for $764.26 million. Still, things are not so different for their neighbors Manchester United.

The rivals, known as the Red Devils, haven’t spent that much. They only invested €832 million for new players which are equal to $1.006 billion, but they have sold players for €246 million which represents $297.66 million. The negative balance reaches $709.06 million. Finances or are not so good in the club, so possibly, their star Anthony Martial could be close to leave.

Moving on from England to Spain, we find that Barcelona has spent the most money in signings since 2016, €1.17 billion, which are equal to $1.41 billion. Despite that, they received €700 million for players that left the club, those are equal to $147 million. That reduces a little bit the losses, which still raise up to $569.91 million. That has led to a massive financial crisis in the club that could force the departure of Lionel Messi if he does not agree a contract extension with the club. Casually Manchester City could be the likeliest destination.
