Yesterday, Real Madrid drew 0-0 away versus Osasuna, in a match that was played under Storm Filomena, the worst storm that Spain suffered in decades. In the post match press conference, Zinedine Zidane criticized La Liga for forcing the teams to play that match, and one of the stars supported that complaint.
He told to Movistar TV that the situation was completely predictable and the match did not have to be played at all. Not just for the soccer, but also for the risk of boarding a plane that had to land on a frozen landing track, before thanking Osasuna for make the pitch the most safe possible to play.
That player is Thibaut Courtois, who added that La Liga is not treating players like humans but puppets that have to serve the show. His case is one of the worst, because he had to spent 90 minutes under the cold being the less active player on the pitch, in the same situation that Sergio Herrera, Osasuna's keeper.
Courtois considers La Liga to not be careful about the safety of the people involved in the match, because they could not refuse to play, being a point deduction the punishment for that. He also pointed out that other teams have been through the same situation as Real Madrid and wants this not to happen again.
