The quality and talent of some footballers gives them the advantage of being able to continue playing professionally even at advanced ages. Didier Drogba's case is one of them: the Ivorian scored 104 goals in 254 Premier League games for Chelsea, where he won two Golden Boots and four league titles in England, as well as a Champions League. At 43, a club will seek to convince him to put his boots back on once more.

The institution concerned is the Ipswich Town of the English Third Division. The second majority owner of said club, Berke Bakay, has a very close relationship with the Ivorian and revealed that he will try to sign the forward to participate in the next season of League One. The Turkish millionaire businessman already had Drogba in the other team which he owns: Phoenix Rising, on the rise of the United States.

In a talk with the East Anglian Daily Times, Bakay explained the possibilities of bringing the historic striker out of retirement. “We have to chat with Paul Cook, coach of the first team, and with CEO Mark Ashton. But if the question is whether he can do the job, I'm sure he can. It's incredible, he can destroy League One at will”, revealed the new Ipswich co-owner. And he added: "He's going to score 25 goals in the season!".

During his time in the United States in the 2017-2018 season, Drogba helped Phoenix Rising accumulate a total of 20 consecutive victories. After being champion of the Western Conference in the second-caliber tournament in that country, the Ivorian decided to retire at the age of 40. But this 2021 a new offer will knock on Didier's doors and the final decision will be in his hands.

Statistics will show that in 805 games he scored 370 goals, that in 11 years he wore the shirt of eight clubs, played three World Cups and won 16 titles, including the 2012 Champions League with Chelsea. On that occasion, the center forward scored the tie for his team in the 88th minute against Bayern Munich and on penalties he converted the fifth and final to give the trophy to the English club for the first time in its history.
