The unusual reason why FC Barcelona would have fired Ronaldinho to take care of Lionel Messi

Ronaldinho was once the king at FC Barcelona. His great talent caught the attention of the fans and his conditions make him one of the most beloved players of the team. He arrived to the Catalan side on July 2003, reach a great moment on the years afterwards and finally left on July 2008.

When Barcelona decided to sell Dinho it was not because they were thinking that he was not going to recover his best level to play back again as he once did, but because of a curious reason. It was recently reported that Barcelona asked the Brazilian legend to leave as they felt he was not going to help Lionel Messi.

The Argentinian had debuted a couple of years before Ronaldinho left, but the sport advisers from the club considered that he was a bad influence for Messi. That was the reason why the sold Ronaldinho and left players such as Andrés Iniesta or Xavi Hernández, disciplined and who know what Barcelona means.

Ronaldinho was finally sold for $25 million to AC Milan, where he played for two years. Afterwards, he returned to Brazil and played for Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro and Fluminense, while he also played a year at Liga MX for Querétaro FC. On January 2018 and after being three years as a free agent, he announced his retirement.
