The party privilege Ronaldinho had at FC Barcelona

Ronaldinho got himself a reputation of party lover. He loved the night, the music, the booze and the women. At the point he make an extremely unusual request at FC Barcelona when he arrived from Paris Saint Germain in 2004. Surely the board at the time was surprised, but they decided to go on anyway.

In the four years he spent in Barcelona, Dinho made frequent use of his privilege to party and that started to create some issues with Frank Rijkaard, the coach at the time. It was not until Pep Guardiola was appointed when Ronaldinho was demanded forced to leave the club, and he did so to AC Milan.

It turned out that Ronaldinho had a special clause in his contract that allowed him to party more than twice a week with no repercussions. His brother and agent made it clear that without that clause, Dinho would not sign for anybody. So the clubs had to adapt to him, sometimes it went well and sometimes it did not.

Recently, the world champion with Brazil in 2002 and UEFA Champions League winner in 2006 went to jail for using fake documents in Paraguay, and recently got out after paying a bail. Now he is an entrepreneur and makes his income advertising diverse products with his face and his name.
