Ronaldinho: the time he broke YouTube and set an internet record

Ronaldinho has worldwide fame, and the first reason for it is his ability for playing soccer. His aesthetically pleasing skills put a smile on every soccer fan, and he was rewarded with an internet record back when he played for FC Barcelona and was unarguably the best player of the world.

This record is generally unknown by people, but he holds it and it cannot be taken away from him. It was for a video where he performed for a Nike advertisement, where he was given a golden suitcase with a pair of boots. He put the boots on and started doing tricks with the ball, also playing with the crossbar. 

And that video was the first ever Youtube video to reach the million of views. In 2005, when that video was released, Youtube has only a few months of existence, and Ronaldinho made a revolution in the video platform. You can watch the historical video here.

He performed those tricks at Mini Estadi, where FC Barcelona trains. And a fun fact: in the background, a 18-year-old called Lionel Messi can be seen training with teammates. But the flashes went with the magic of the Brazilian. And that is the unknown record Ronaldinho holds: he is the first influencer ever.
