Soccer legends who are already a certain age are more at risk because of Covid. Unfortunately recently we had to suffer the death of Paolo Rossi and now a former player of the Italian national team is also sensitive about this issue. This player was contemporary to Pele, winner of the Champions League and twice a member of the Italian team in World Cups.

In Italy Mauro Bellugi is one of the great stars of history. Bellugi was a great defender who knew how to participate in two World Cups and be a star at Inter Milan. Unfortunately, the last hours have not been good for Bellugi since they have told him that they will have to amputate both his legs because the Covid affected his entire body.

Bellugi played the 1974 and 1978 World Cups in which Italy could not win. Bellugi had the privilege of facing Pele and defending him in a great way in the American Two-year Football Cup tournament. They did not meet in the World Cup because Pele decided not to participate in the World Cup in 1974.

Unfortunately for Bellugi, doctors will have to amputate both of his legs but the former Italy defender said he will come through. What Bellugi regrets the most is that they cut off the leg with which he converted a goal in the Champions League against Borrusia Monchengladbach. Bellugi had a magnificent football career and even had the pleasure of facing Pele.
