He is compared to the legend, but at Brazil national team they think differently about him.

Pele is one of Brazil greatest idols of all time. He is now 80 years old and when he was young, as a soccer player, he achieved some best conquers for his national team. On 1958, he won the World Cup for the very first time and on 1962 and 1970 he did so again, being the only player in history to achieve the international title three times.

It was many times said that one day the successor from Pele could be appearing at Brazil. After many years without him, a youngster called Vinicius Junior appeared and make everyone remembered the legend. Pele himself talked about similar conditions of the attacker, that has now to battle with the shadow of the idol.

Vinicius was formed at Flamengo and on July 2018 left to Real Madrid for $45 million. Actually, he has a contract signed with the Galacticos until June 2025 and a reported value of $50 million, according to specialized website Transfermarkt. At the Spanish side, he played 87 games, scoring 11 goals and giving 19 assists.

But despite all the expectation that Vinicius wakes up in every Brazilian fan, at his national team he hasn’t been well considered so far. On September 2019 he made his professional debut with the senior team, playing a quarter-hour in a friendly against Peru. Since then, he never played and was just call-up one more time.
