David Beckham is definitely the greatest surprise in soccer's entrepeneurship. The English seems not to have a ceiling and continues making different investments along the most popular sport in the world. This time, the turn was to join the London Stock Exchange with a e-sports team.
Guild Esports is to become the first e-sports team to join the London Stock Exchange this autumn. The move comes as e–sports benefits from a rapidly increasing fans worldwide with some tournaments attracting a bigger audience than the traditional sport trophies like Wimbledon or the US Open.
Guild initially plans to set up and field dedicated teams to compete in four online games: Fortnite; CS:Go; Rocket League and FIFA. The franchise intends to create revenue through tournament winnings, digital marketing opportunities, sponsorship, membership, merchandise and promotional tours/events. A new kind of sports are coming and Beckham doesn't want to be exempt.
