As much as his friendship was questioned, this is how Lionel Messi said goodbye to Diego Maradona

Diego Armando Maradona died this Wednesday in a day that will be remembered for ever. The Argentinian legend lived 60 years and had serious health problems during the last ones, from which he couldn’t recover. A couple of days ago he was hospitalized and afterwards he left to his house.

After the death was confirmed, Lionel Messi, the other great Argentinian legend, sent him a message on Instagram saying goodbye. The FC Barcelona star wrote that it was a very sad day for all the Argentinians and that Diego will last forever, as although he is dead now, he will remain eternal.

The relationship between Messi and Maradona was always strange. The attacker aged 33 has also followed the shadow of his compatriot and was supposed to be his successor. Between them, the relationship was always good and Maradona was one of the coaches who helped Messi progress when he was Argentina national team coach.

The last hours of Maradona were very painful. The legend was isolated from his more closed relatives, including his daughters Dalma and Giannina, as he fought with them some years ago. Those who were near to him assure that he was not going through a good moment and the final was the worst at the end.
