Alongside when the world’s current situation concerning global health will end, the other big question in 2021 is if Lionel Messi will stay in Barcelona or will leave the club. The Argentinian’s contract will end on June 30, and his last conflicts with the board have definitely put him in danger of departing.

Still, there are many reasons to believe he could stay for one more season. The most important one: his family. His wife Antonella Roccuzzo and his three sons, Ciro, Mateo and Thiago, love living in Barcelona. Despite that, they fly to their hometown Rosario, in Argentina, given their parents are living there.

Most of the people who closely know Messi have their opinion or they wish in the situation. For example, PSG players Ángel Di María and Leandro Paredes, who play with him in the national team, want him to move. But they know it’s still their decision. Some others, who may not know Messi that deeply, still think to know what will happen.

Former Real Madrid coach and Barcelona player Bernd Schuster has stated he does not see Messi moving to PSG at all. He says he is sure the Argentinian master will stay in Barcelona despite all the trouble he has lived. He reckons the fact of having a new board with new people commanding the club will make him want to stay.
