The national U-20 team defeated its Costa Rican counterpart on Saturday and Tuesday in friendly matches played at the FMF's facilities.

Mexico vs Costa Rica U20: Aztecs win in preparation duel with Marcelo Flores

The national team, coached by Luis Pérez, won both matches against the Costa Ricans as part of its preparation for the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers for Indonesia 2023.

In the first match, the U20 team won 2-0 and the goals in the game, which took place in Toluca, State of Mexico, were scored by Fidel Ambriz, in the 23rd minute, and Ali Avila, in the 65th minute.

In the second match that took place on Tuesday, the national team won again, but now by a score of 2-1. Mexico's goals were scored by Ali Avila again and Joshua Mancha.

Marcelo Flores was again in the starting lineup and had some outstanding plays, but was unable to score.
