Following the recent decision by FIFA and Concacaf to advance qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup until March 2021, the confederation has announced that the semifinals and final of the Concacaf Nations League, previously scheduled for March 2021 , will now take place in June 2021 at a centralized location in the United States.
The four winners of the League A groups (Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and USA) qualified for the semifinals, which were originally scheduled for June 2020, but had to be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in progress.
When play resumes, the United States men's team will play Honduras and Mexico will face Costa Rica. The winners of those semi-finals will meet in a final, while the losers will play a match for third place. Concacaf is still in talks with FIFA to establish a new qualifying schedule for the Concacaf World Cup in its current three-round format.
