Broadcasting rights is an important source of revenue for sports, one of the major if not the major source. The position and activities of a league determines how much they will make from broadcasters.

Undoubtedly, the Premier League is the biggest league in the soccer world in terms of revenues generated on broadcasting rights and is looking to surpass £10bn in television rights both from domestic and international broadcasters if it secures the USA market deal.

The Premier league's current domestic deal will generate over £4bn in three years. It canceled its China deal worth £500m per year and is in search of a more lucrative deal reported to be worth about £1bn. The US market deal will recoup about £2.6bn in three years.

The NBA is hoping to generate $10bn in the 2021/22 season of which only $2bn is media rights while the Premier League's media rights per season is about £3.4bn which is way bigger than the NBA media rights. Soccer once again proves it is the biggest sport in the world.
