Monterrey and Cruz Azul meet in the first leg of the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League. Los Rayados are coming after a good start in Liga MX this season. As of today, they have five points in the league.
Cruz Azul is coming off the back of being the Liga MX Champion, but has yet to get a foothold in this new edition of the competition. They won one game, drew another and lost to Mazatlán in La Maquina's debut in the Apertura 2021.
Their last match was against Cruz Azul, which won with a goal by Roberto Alvarado in the 42nd minute. It took place on March 14, in Liga MX Matchday 11 at the Azteca Stadium.
Although the coaches have not confirmed their players, these are the possible lineups:
Monterrey: (4-2-3-1) Andrada; Gutiérrez, Medina, Vegas, Vegas, Gallardo; Kranevitter, González; Campbell, Meza, Janssen and Funes Mori.
Cruz Azul: (5-3-2) Gudiño; Escobar, Peña, Aguilar, Domínguez, Jiménez; Rivero, Pineda, Baca; Giménez and Rodríguez.
