The Apertura 2021 has already left behind its second chapter, leaving Toluca and Mazatlán FC as the only two clubs that have been able to win their first games of the competition. On the other hand, two of Mexico's big teams, Cruz Azul and Pumas have yet to win and are desperate to get their first three points.

 

 

There are several players back from the Gold Cup, but many others are still returning from Tokyo after their participation in the Olympic Games. After Matchday 3 of the Apertura 2021, there will be a lot of activity for Liga MX teams with the start of the Leagues Cup, the return of the Concachampions and the double dates of the local tournament.

 

 

On August 5, Day 3 of the Liga MX Apertura 2021 tournament kicks off.  It is a key day where many teams can get a win and some will be looking for a way out of the bottom of the table. Liga MX promises good football and goals, here are the match schedules:
 

 

 

 

Results of Matchday 2 of the Apertura 2021:

 

Last Friday, Mazatlán's 2-1 win over Pachuca kicked things off. Then, Chivas earned its first three points with a 2-0 win over Puebla. On Saturday, Xolos lost again, this time 2-1 away to León. Monterrey beat Pumas 2-0, América defeated Necaxa 2-1 and Atlas beat Juárez 2-0. On Sunday, Toluca reached six points by defeating Tigres 3-1, while Santos drew 1-1 against Cruz Azul. Yesterday's matchday ended with a 1-1 draw between Atlético de San Luis and Querétaro. 

 

 

Liga MX standings:  

 

Toluca and Mazatlán are in perfect form, while Tijuana, Necaxa and Juárez have yet to score. So far there are five players who have score two goals: Alexis Canelo, (Toluca), Camilo Sanvezzo, (Mazatlán), Diego Valdés Santos), Duván Vergara 2 (Monterrey)
Víctor Guzmán (Pachuca).
