The Honduras National Team is one of the "historic" of the region since it was created in 1921 and has participated in three World Cups (Spain 1982, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014). And at the Concacaf level, it has a pending account: it could never win the Gold Cup, being the vice-champions to the 1991 edition. On the other hand, it does have four editions of the Uncaf Nations Cup (1993, 1995, 2011 and 2017). For this reason, in the next Concacaf Gold Cup he wants to be an important protagonist again.
The Honduras National Team is in Group D of the Concacaf Gold Cup. His debut will be on July 13, against Granada. The second date will be measured against Panama, on July 17, and the qualifying stage will close three days later against Qatar, the country invited to the competition.
Goalkeepers: Luis López, Edrick Menjívar and Alex Güity.
Defenders: Marcelo Pereira, Maylor Núñez, Elvin Casildo, Johnny Leverón, Ever Alvarado, Diego Rodríguez, Maynor Figueroa and Kevin Álvarez.
Midfielders: Deybi Flores, Jhow Benavidez, Walter Martínez, Edwin Rodríguez, Boniek García, Bryan Acosta, Alex López, Rigoberto Rivas and Jonathan Rubio.
Forwards: Alberth Elis, Antony Lozano and Romell Quioto.
In the last edition of the Concacaf Nations League, Jerry Bengston, Bryan Róchez and Muma Fernández were surprisingly absent. Coach Fabián Coito didn't mention them, causing great controversy in the country because they are three of the historical players. Even with a couple of days to make the list official, can they be taken into account again?
