Carlos Vela is ready to come back. After he recovered from an injury that left him out throughout almost all the season, the Mexican suffered another interruption, as there are many cases of COVID-19 on LAFC and his team is not going to play the end of the MLS regular season.
But, when finally coming back, Vela will have a great chance to prove his form and face a top player. The encounter will have place on the quarter-finals of the Concachampions, a tournament in which LAFC is going to challenge Cruz Azul. The Mexican side counts on, Jonathan Javier Rodríguez, known as the new Luis Suárez.
Rodríguez is 27 years old and plays for Cruz Azul since the club signed him from Santos Laguna for more than $4 million. Before, he also played at Peñarol, RC Deportivo and Benfica. With a contract remaining with his actual club until December 2022, many clubs have an eye on him and the game against LAFC will be a clear proof.
During this season, Rodríguez had a terrible moment. After 15 games played, he scored 12 times and gave one assists, proving all of his talent. Since his arrival to Cruz Azul, he netted 33 goals in 65 matches. Vela and his side will have a very hard time facing one of the most dangerous Uruguayan strikers these days.
