Real Madrid star player, Gareth Bale was not part of the Wales team that went up against the Eastern European side, the Czech Republic on Friday night for their all-important 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match. The former most expensive player in the world was ruled out of the Welsh side due to an ongoing injury problem.

Often, the difference-maker for the Welsh National team, Gareth Bale was sorely missed against a Czech side that wasn't so convincing despite having the home advantage. Gareth Bale put in an excellent performance in Wales' last match against Belarus, where he scored a hat-trick to bring his side from 2-1 down to secure a miraculous 3-2 victory.

Despite the absence of Bale, a couple of other well-known names stepped up to the plate for the Welsh National team, with former Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey and former Manchester United's Daniel James finding the back of the net. Both players scores either side of 2 Czech goals from Jakub Pesec and a Danny Ward own goal.

The solitary point from the 2-2 draw means Wales remain just marginally ahead of the Czech Republic with both sides on 8 points but Wales occupying second spot due to a +1 goal difference against Czech Republic's 0 goal difference. Belgium leads the group with an almost unassailable 16 points from 6 games.
