Gregg Berhalter's team scored goals from Weston McKennie, Walker Zimmerman, and Christian Pulisic to beat Honduras and confirm their place as the second-best team in CONCACAF.

The match was largely dominated by the Stars and Stripes and, although the Honduran team tried, the Americans' pressure on the Honduran team's outlets was overwhelming.

How did the USMNT score the goals that beat Honduras?

The first goal for the Stars and Stripes came from a foul committed by the Honduran team in a play in which Elis brought down Acosta and although there was some pushing and shoving in the area, the shot was taken without any major problems.

The shot was taken and ended in service for McKennie, who finished and got the first goal for his team. The goal was scored because Delgado lost sight of the Juventus man, leaving McKennie free to score.

The second goal fell similarly when from another free-kick, Zimmermann appeared in the box to get the better of the play and score the second goal of the match.

It seemed that the Catracho defense relied not on tactics, but on physical strength to try to stop the North American attackers, but as it turned out, this idea was ineffective.

The third goal of the match was scored in the 67th minute by Christian Pulisic, who came across a live ball on a corner kick, so he did not miss the opportunity and scored the third goal, with which the USMNT killed Honduras' dreams of going to the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Mexico vs Panama Concacaf Qualifiers: Predicted lineup for El Tri

USMNT is the second-best team in CONCACAF

With this resounding victory, Gregg Berhalter's USMNT is the second-best team in CONCACAF, having accumulated 21 points in the current World Cup Qualifiers.

They are in second place not because they did not do a good job, but because the Canadian national soccer team did an impeccable job to take the top spot in the overall standings.

In third place in the table is Mexico, which tonight will play against Panama for the three points it needs to truly secure its ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite Gerardo Martino's dismal campaign, Mexico is still in third place and this will continue to be the case if there is no tragedy at the Azteca Stadium when they face Panama.

So far, Panama remains in fourth place in the World Cup Qualifiers and would have the right to go to the re-qualification to be able to go to the World Cup.

This is because according to the latest modifications to the rules of the Qualifiers, the three best teams qualify for the World Cup, and the fourth classified team advances to the international playoff.

If a tragedy does not occur tonight at the Azteca Stadium, the Mexicans could secure their ticket to Qatar 2022

But if the Panamanians do not give up and leave everything on the field, they could go straight to the World Cup, while Gerardo Martino's team would have to go to the playoffs.
