The lack of results at Manchester United and star Cristiano Ronaldo's goal drought have created a climate of tension in the club's dressing room. According to Diario AS, the Portuguese is reportedly in dispute with coach Ralf Rangnick and the "division between the two is total".

According to the newspaper, Cristiano Ronaldo believes the German "does not have the level" to manage the Red Devils. This relationship became even more problematic when the coach said that the striker "should score more goals".

The newspaper reports that the player has no intention of leaving Old Trafford at this time, as he would be happy in the city with his family. However, the team would have to resolve the future of Rangnick, who holds the interim position until the end of the season, when he will become a technical consultant to the English club on a two-year contract.

Under Ralf Rangnick, the team has accumulated six draws, six wins, and only one defeat. The German's start was promising, however, a sequence of bad results put the manager's job in jeopardy, as United is in fifth place in the English championship, far from competing for the championship title.

Manchester United are now focusing all their energies on the Champions League. The team qualified for the round of 16, after a challenging group stage, and will face Atletico Madrid. The first leg is scheduled for next Wednesday, at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, and the second leg for March 15 at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo has his longest goal drought since 2009

It has been six games since Ronaldo last scored for United, in a 3-1 home win over Burnley on December 30. He last went six games without scoring in 2009, in his final months at Old Trafford before joining Real Madrid.

However, Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season after he rejoined United from Juventus in the summer.

Rangnick the real problem at Man U?

A new storm is brewing in Manchester, as Rangnick was set to leave his position as manager at the end of the current season to become the Red Devils' sporting director. However, after the latest events, his future could be quite different. The Manchester management wants to avoid making any major decisions until the German coach leaves the bench.

That is why all the players who left Manchester United in the winter transfer window did so on loan and will return in the summer. Thanks to this, the future coach will have more room to shape the project to his liking.

Another sign of the lack of confidence in Rangnick is at the club itself. And while news of a probable arrival of Pochettino are recurrent, the Argentine is still at PSG, precisely. What is clear, however, is that the United dressing room is waiting for a new coach like a dream come true.
