Although he was the best striker for Wolverhampton Wanderers during the 2021-22 Premier League season, it’s evident that Raúl Jiménez’s level decreased significantly since he returned from the head injury that kept him out of the pitches for nine months.

Bayern Munich already has the money to acquire Raúl Jiménez, will he leave Premier League?

The 31-year-old Mexican striker is under contract with Wolves until 2024 but given that his performances diminished, and Bruno Lage hasn’t been able to help him recover his scoring streak, they were considering selling him over the summer.

Reports from TalkSport suggested that Wolves were willing to sell him for as little as $18 million after they had valued him over $100 million just a couple of years ago, when Bayern Munich first was interested in acquiring him.

But now that the summer transfer window is getting closer, and with the interest of several teams from Germany -Bayern Munich- and Spain -Sevilla FC and Atlético Madrid- following him, Jiménez and Wolves know that they need to take a decision.

Will he stay at Wolves?

Wolverhampton Wanderers lost the chance of playing in a European tournament next year given the poor performances that they had, especially during the end of the season, as they only won two games of the last 10 that they played.

That’s why they know that they need to improve the roster and recover the players that couldn’t shine this season, like Raúl, who will have a chance of staying at Molineux for the next season given that Wolves have reconsidered the option of selling him.

Instead, and according to reports from Sport, the players that is closer to leave Wolves over the summer is Rubén Neves, who has been chosen by FC Barcelona to replace Sergio Busquets, although teams like Arsenal, Tottenham Manchester United and Atlético Madrid are also after him.

Neves’s departure benefits Jiménez

The departure of the Portuguese international opens the door for Raúl Jiménez, who doesn’t want to leave England now that his wife just had their second kid, to recover his place in the starting XI, as well as improving his level, something that will be beneficial not only for him but also for Mexico National Team, as they’ve been lacking a striker that can score consistently.
