He barely played this season but Manchester United could sell him for $50 million

Since it was announced that the Dutchman was going to be the new coach of Manchester United for the next three years, AFC Ajax players and former players started to be linked to the Red Devils, as it’s no lie to say that the Godenzonen has become one of the best academies for the European leagues.

One of the players that has been named the most in Manchester’s surroundings is FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who played under ten Hag from 2017 to 2019, when Ajax made it to the semifinals of Champions League.

But according to reports from Sport, Joan Laporta is not willing to let him go for less than $106 million, a sum that the Red Devils are not willing to pay. Even if they are still in negotiations with the Blaugrana squad, they are also considering other options.

Who is the Plan B to replace Pogba?

If they can’t close the signing of the 25-year-old Dutch midfielder, Manchester United have been looking for different options, from N’golo Kanté to Edson Álvarez, names that could be great additions, although nothing else has transpired.

But reports from Calcio Mercato inform that they are also looking into Serie A, as they already are negotiating with SS Lazio for the transfer of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the 27-year-old Serbian midfielder that has become an essential player for the Biancocelesti in the past few years.

Milinkovic-Savic had the best season of his stint with Lazio this year since he joined them back in 2015 out of Belgian side KRC Genk, as he played 46 games in all the competences and was able to score 11 goals and assist 12 times.

How much will Manchester United have to pay for Milinkovic-Savic?

Milinkovic-Savic is under contract with Lazio until 2024, but he knows that this could have been his last season playing in Serie A, as according to reports from Sky Sports Italy, the Red Devils already started negotiations with Le Aquile with an initial offer of $68 million.
