The Red Devils only earned 58 points throughout the season, making it one of their worst participations in recent history, although it was enough for them to earn a ticket to UEFA Europa League next season along West Ham United.

The game against Crystal Palace also marked the end of Ralf Rangnick as coach of The United, and now will take a step down to give leave the job to Erik ten Hag, who was officially introduced as the new coach of The Red Devils last Tuesday.

Erik ten Hag knows that there’s a lot of things to solve prior the start of the season, especially with all the players that already left Old Trafford as free agents, although another of the questions that remained unanswered had to do with the continuity of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ten Hag already knows what will happen with Cristiano

During the first press conference that the Dutchman had as Manchester United’s coach, he was asked about the continuity of Cristiano Ronaldo, as reports suggested that the Portuguese international was looking to leave after they didn’t earn a ticket to the Champions League.

Erik ten Hag was clear about the decision of keeping the 37-year-old striker in Old Trafford for at least another season. “Of course, I count with him. He’s on my plans. Cristiano can score tons of goals. But I first talked with him before I did it with you.”

The Dutchman knows that one of the things that didn’t work on the past season was the lack of players that could create danger other than Cristiano Ronaldo, as the Portuguese was the only player on the roster that scored double digits.

United, after their first title in a decade

Erik ten Hag arrives at Manchester United with the intention of winning a new Premier League title, something that doesn’t happen since the 2013-14 season, when Sir Alex Ferguson coached his last team, and having Ronaldo in the lineup is something that will help The Red Devils get closer to that objective.
