Argentine midfielder Emiliano Buendía gave Aston Villa the victory over Everton in today's Premier League match, in which the "Toffees", after the departure of Rafa Benítez, are still not finding their way.

Buendía's goal was a header and made the score 2-0, for Everton to continue their free fall in the overall Premier League table, where Benítez left them

Buendía was not only the scorer of the only goal of the match, but also the player of the match, and thanks to him, Aston Villa accumulated 7 shots at Everton's goal, which at that point of the game had not scored any.

Buendia is definitely in a great moment as he has been called to play with the Argentina national team for the next FIFA dates, so this goal is a way to celebrate that call.

How was Buendia's header goal against Everton?

Aston Villa had been trying consistently but the goal had not fallen.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had been doing brilliantly to the point where his last save before the goal had been rated by the match commentators as the save of the year.

However, the keeper was unable to prevent Aston Villa's goal from going down no matter how hard he tried.

It all happened in the third minute of added time of the first half, a corner taken by Lucas Digne arrived directly to the penalty area and in that area, Emiliano Buendia was already placed, who with a powerful header beat Pickford and scored the only goal of the match that gave the victory to his team

For the second half, Everton FC wanted to tie the game by running their lines forward and trying all kinds of passes.

The problem is that the team does not have a creative player to look for more options or provide depth in attack, so all the attempts of the "Toffees" simply did not bear fruit.

Such was Everton's desperation that even Aston Villa stopped attacking in the second half to protect their lead

Perhaps one of Everton's best attempts came from Yerri Mina, who took a powerful header from a corner to try to beat Emiliano Martinez in the 70th minute but failed to do so.

Villa's last attempt to try to tie the game was in the 76th minute, with another header by Mina that went over the opponent's goal, but despite the efforts, it was clear that what Everton needs is a creative player on the field to provide them with ideas and depth in attack.

Everton FC continues in free fall in the Premier League

After this match, Everton remains just two places above relegation, and with today's defeat, they have just 19 points in the competition.

The departure of Rafa Benitez is a problem that the team's board must solve soon and find an efficient replacement who can get the team out of the hole it is in.

Everton showed today more desire than soccer and if they continue like this, they will surely have very dramatic matches, but it will be impossible for them to win games and to keep adding points to move away from the relegation zone
