Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag would have received great news in the last few hours due to the absence of the ex Boca Juniors player Valentin Barco in Brighton on these days for an unexpected reason, which would have gotten him apart from the Seagulls despite having been announced as a top arrival at the South English club.

The Argentine star, who joined the Seagulls last week for €10 million on a permanent transfer from the Argentine football, is considered one of the top players of the next Argentine youngsters’ generation, and one of the main pieces at Roberto de Zerbi’s Brighton due to his versatility and quality on the pitch.

However, the young player, who will be a great menace for Manchester United, a direct rival of Brighton in the Premier League table, won’t be able to make his debut with the Seagulls in the next few weeks, as he is currently in Venezuela with the Argentine national team U23 to play the Pre Olympic tournament, where his coach Javier Mascherano has him as one of the main players in the squad.

Roberto de Zerbi is resigned to miss the player

In this sense, Brighton’s coach, Roberto de Zerbi, resigned to miss Barco during this month due to his international duty, revealed in his last press conference with the Seagulls that the Argentine versatile player is highly awaited in the club, and he is willing to place him in his team. "We have to see him play in games, on the field, and see what else. Because you can meet the players by video, but sometimes you can find different characteristics on the field," considered the 44-year-old coach.
