Money is not always synonymous with success in soccer, although it is undeniable that it helps a lot to achieve goals. However, there are several teams in the world that know that having great purchasing power does not necessarily translate into triumphs and titles. Chelsea is one of those teams, as under its new owner, they have spent millions to reinforce the team and are still not getting closer to their goals.

The team led by Mauricio Pochettino has been under new owner Todd Boehly for two seasons. In just those two seasons, the London team has spent 1,011.6 million euros according to the Football Transfers portal, which makes it the European team that has invested the most in the last two years.

However, their sporting present is far from what their fans expected after the big signings they have made. Chelsea is only playing in two tournaments this season, as they are not in European competitions and have already been eliminated from the Carabao Cup. Now, they are only focused on the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Unfortunately for them, it does not look like they will qualify for European competitions at the end of this season, as they are currently eleventh in the Premier League table and 13 points behind the last place that grants a place in the Europa league. This has caused some players to rethink their desire to continue in the team, as there are even rumors of a change of coach at the end of the season, with José Mourinho being one of the great candidates to replace Pochettino.

The two players who want to leave Chelsea

According to multiple reports, there are two players who no longer want to continue with Chelsea next season and would be looking to leave the club. One would be the defender, Thiago Silva, who finishes his contract this summer and is likely not to renew. The other player is even more surprising as he is the most expensive signing in the club's history and is midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who was acquired for 121 million euros and who, according to journalist Jac Talbot, is considering leaving the club.
