FC Barcelona's Xavi and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp both announced their intention to leave their respective clubs at the end of the season. Liverpool looked focused on bringing in Xabi Alonso this summer. Bayern Munich also chases Alonso to become their new manager. FC Barcelona was also interested in Xabi Alonso but has focused on Roberto De Zerbi. De Zerbi is among the best managers in the Premier League for his amazing football played at Brighton and Hove Albion. If Liverpool cannot secure the appointment of Xabi Alonso this summer, Liverpool also has their eyes on De Zerbi as a backup plan. De Zerbi seems to be among the most chased managers in world football this summer, but the Italian manager spoke today about the possibility of leaving Brighton soon.

De Zerbi spoke to Sky Sports, and when asked about the rumors of big teams searching for the manager, he said, "When I hear that big teams are interested in me, it is an honor. I am proud, but my focus is on my work day-by-day. About the future, I will speak with the [Brighton] owner [Tony Bloom] and with the club because I want to compete in the best way I can. I want to understand the plan, and then it is not a problem to work in a big, big team or another big team."

De Zerbi said, "I would like in my career to compete to win the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, Champions League, but there isn't a time when you have to go and compete or to wait some more time. I am feeling very well in the Premier League and I have to say thanks to Brighton and for all of the coaches and people in [and supporting] the Premier League in the UK.
