Every four years sports’ biggest celebration happen as nations from all over the world gather to celebrate their sporting culture at the Summer Olympics. From the opening ceremony to the all the world class athletes on display, to the closing ceremony, the Olympic games are an amazing spectacle. And this year the nation that gets to host the spectacle is France with the Olympic games set to be in Paris.

For French athletes across the world, these Olympic games mean much more than any other previous or future ones. They’ll be looking to secure gold in front of their home crowd, and winning gold at home feels just a bit better than it would anywhere else. And France has world class athletes across multiple sports including new NBA sensation Victor Wembyanyama. But no French athlete is bigger today than the global football sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe is recognized as one of the best footballers on the planet, and after almost singlehandedly winning France another World Cup in 2022, all eyes are on him to see what he does next with Les Bleus. France is set to compete in the Euros this year in Germany this June, but after that they will have the Olympic games to focus on as they are the host nation. Due to being the host nation, France has the perk of automatically qualifying in football for the 2024 Olympic games, and Thierry Henry is set to assemble the squad.

According to Thierry Henry, he has not decided on his squad yet, but he is hoping that some French senior members decide to represent their nation. One of those members is Kylian Mbappe. It’s set to be a busy summer for the superstar as he is set to be a free agent this summer on top of representing France in the Euros. The Olympic games might be something the Frenchman might want to add to his plate.

How does Mbappe feel about playing in the Olympic Games

Stuff can change in a year, but last year Kylian Mbappe was very open to representing France. “I don't know if I'll be there. But, in any case, I hope to be there," Mbappe told France TV Sport "Everyone knows that I've always dreamed of playing the Olympic Games.”
