PSG and the world now know that Kylian Mbappé will be leaving the club in the next few weeks as the season is coming to a close. The manager of PSG, Luis Enrique, has been denying any rumors in regards to Mbappé's departure in the past few months, but now he also can calmly say that he will leave the team soon. In a recent press conference, a journalist asked Enrique about Mbappé going to Real Madrid and wanted to hear his thoughts, and the Spanish manager gave a funny response to the question. Enrique said, "I think today it's raining, but it's also a very beautiful day because you can feel this different air; I like the rain; it reminds me of my land of Gijón. Playu, as we like to call ourselves, and I think this is the perfect answer to your question."
Enrique spoke about coaching Mbappé in the previous game, which was his last home game for PSG at the Parc des Princes, and he praised the player. Enrique said, "It’s been a pleasure to train Kylian Mbappé. He has always been perfect, he’s a role model. I have zero negative things to say about Kylian. I’ve nothing against him. He’s been really perfect; his behavior has been excellent."
The Spanish manager also admitted that the club knew that Mbappé would soon leave PSG, and he gave the fans hope that next season, the team would be stronger despite the departure of Mbappé. Enrique said, "We all knew that Kylian Mbappé was gonna leave PSG. No changes, it’s all the same for us. I wish Mbappé all the best. I remain convinced that next season we will be stronger. Mark my words. PSG will be stronger next season."
While many thought Mbappé was saying goodbye to the PSG fans this past weekend, it wouldn't be his last match with PSG. The team still has three more games left this season, and tomorrow, they will play OGC Nice at Allianz Riviera. Mbappé may miss the match due to injury, but he could play against Metz this weekend away at the Stade Saint-Symphorien. The last game of the season for PSG will be the Coupe de France final against Lyon at the Decathlon Arena-Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
