Many football fans were impressed with Lionel Messi's latest performance with Inter Miami in the 6-2 win against the New York Red Bulls in the MLS. FIFA President Gianni Infantino also reacted to Messi's performance where he scored one goal and provided five assists. Infantino was at the F1 Miami GP race and he was asked what he thought about Messi's goal and five assists. Infantino said, "Fantastic, phenomenal."

The president of FIFA has always admired Messi for his incredible career in football, as he has won the biggest trophies at the club level. The one Messi wanted to win throughout his entire career was the FIFA World Cup trophy with Argentina. Messi finally achieved it in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Infantino hoped that Messi could continue for the next couple of World Cups if he wished to keep going. The FIFA President said, "I hope that Leo Messi will be present at the next World Cup 2026, the next World Cup 2030, and the 2034 World Cup, until the time he wants to stop."

During the Argentine's debut season, Infantino watched Messi at Inter Miami in their stadium last year. The FIFA President has attended many games around the world, and he took the time to watch a couple of Inter Miami games in the MLS. Now, with the Argentine having his first full season in the MLS with Miami, Infantino could be expected to attend more games, which could be MLS games or the Leagues Cup tournament. The United States will also host the Copa America 2024 this summer, where Messi will play with Argentina to win another trophy.

Infantino congratulated Messi when he won the 2023 Ballon d'Or
