Could Barcelona sell two of its pillars in order to raise more money?
Barcelona is going through one of the worst times in recent years. Not only are they not playing well and the results are not good, but also, Xavi Hernandez announced his departure from the club for this summer. Barcelona has already been eliminated from the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, in La Liga, they are 7 points below Real Madrid.
In the UEFA Champions League they are not even close to being candidates to win it, however Barcelona can never be ruled out. In the round of 16, they will go against Napoli, in less than two weeks. In addition to the problems, it is a reality that Barcelona is not having a good economic time either, since they are in need of money.
Regarding the latter, Barcelona would not be reluctant to sell some of their stars to make some money, and now, Manchester United could have offered around 120 million euros for a couple of them.
These are Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong. Recently, Deco, a member of the Barcelona staff, commented: “I don't know what will happen with Mbappé. It would be a mistake to sell Ronald Araújo and Frenkie de Jong. I would like to improve the squad and not make it worse. I think it would be worse for the team if Araújo and Frenkie left and Mbappé came.”
Money changes everything:
Despite Deco's words, the reality is that Barcelona's million-dollar debt is the priority, therefore, the club needs to sell to clean it up and thus not be so tight.
