Tottenham willing to spend 80M euros for 45M Chelsea midfielder

Tottenham have made two signings this January transfer window to add depth in the squad. Spurs suffered many crucial injuries like James Maddison and Mickey Van de Ven earlier in the season. Signings like Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin have come into the squad this winter and Spurs would like one more signing before the winter window shuts next week.

Tottenham is looking to reinforce its midfield after bringing in one extra defender and one extra attacker. After the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the home FA Cup, Maddison returned after more than two months. He played 17 minutes in the game and will look to recover his form from earlier in the season. He had three goals and five assists in 11 games in the Premier League.

Rodrigo Bentancur also recently came back from injury and has been crucial for the team, but Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has struggled to find a partner for the Uruguayan. Spurs have Lo Celso injured, but when he plays, he's more comfortable in the attacking midfielder role.

Oliver Skipp doesn't see enough minutes to be considered in the starting lineup. Pape Sarr has been brilliant this season, but his participation with Senegal in the AFCON Cup has him out of the squad for a few more weeks. Hojbjerg has played the most, but Postecoglou will look for another holding midfielder to play along with Bentancur.

Tottenham is willing to bid for Chelsea's Conor Gallagher late in the January transfer window

Conor Gallagher has been a transfer target for Tottenham since last summer. Spurs do not care about the rivalry between the clubs and want to sign the player sooner rather than later. Spurs want to make a huge bid for Gallagher last in the winter transfer window, which ends February 1st. Spurs are willing to match Chelsea's £80M asking price for Gallagher.
