FC Barcelona's deal with Nike could soon be over after rumors of the club being impatient with the negotiations and the club looking to earn more revenue. Puma has been linked with the Catalan club for a while now, and a deal could soon be agreed since the difference between the deals is quite big. Barcelona is in a financial crisis, and the club wants to generate as much funds as possible in order to spend money on new players and more within the club. FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta even confirmed the club's desire to terminate their contract with Nike in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, and the club might just do that if the American company does not increase the earnings for FC Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Nike has told FC Barcelona that they have already started manufacturing the kits for the 2024/2025 season. However, the club told them to stop the manufacturing process in June 2023, as they were ending their relationship with the sports brand. Barça has already begun studying how much it would cost to manufacture kits under its own brand for next season, as they don't want any commercial logos in the club's 125th-anniversary jersey.

Fernando Polo reports that Nike has raised their offer to $80 million. The club values the effort but sees it as insufficient compared to Puma's offer, which can reach $129 million, which would be for ten years with a bonus of $107 million. Now, the matter is in court. Along with Puma's offer, it will be a 10-year contract, starting from 2025 and the club could earn $21 million yearly in variables, depending on the amount of shirts sold.
