Chelsea Football Club has officially released the list of players who will form their squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. This highly anticipated announcement has been accompanied by specific details regarding player availability, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano highlighting several notable absences from the roster.

According to Romano's update, a number of prominent players will not be part of Chelsea's contingent traveling for the prestigious tournament. These include João Félix, Djordje Petrovic, Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Kendry Páez, and Renato Veiga. The exclusion of these individuals from the Club World Cup squad indicates their non-participation in the tournament for Chelsea.

The absence of João Félix, who may have been on loan or a permanent acquisition depending on his contractual status at the time of the Club World Cup, suggests his unavailability for this particular competition. Similarly, goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic will not be with the squad, indicating other goalkeeping options will be utilized.

Experienced forward Raheem Sterling is also among those not included in the Club World Cup roster. His omission points to either strategic selection decisions or other factors that render him unavailable for the tournament. Defenders Axel Disasi and Ben Chilwell are also absent from the confirmed squad. Chilwell's exclusion, in particular, often raises questions regarding player fitness given his history of injuries.

The young Ecuadorian talent, Kendry Páez, is also noted as being out of the Chelsea squad for the Club World Cup. Given his recent transfer news to clubs like Strasbourg with a future move to Real Madrid, his status for Chelsea's Club World Cup involvement would depend on the specifics of his registration and loan agreements, if any, with the London club. The mention here indicates he will not feature.

Midfielder Renato Veiga completes the list of players specifically mentioned by Romano as being excluded from the Club World Cup call-up. His absence suggests similar scenarios of selection or availability issues.

In addition to these players, Fabrizio Romano specifically stated that Wesley Fofana remains at Cobham due to injury. This update confirms that the defender, who has faced significant injury setbacks, will continue his rehabilitation at the club's training ground and will not be fit to participate in the Club World Cup. His ongoing recovery means he is unable to join the team for the tournament.

The confirmed squad list for the Club World Cup, coupled with Romano's insights on these specific absences, provides a clear picture of the players Chelsea will be relying on for the upcoming competition. The reasons for these exclusions are varied, ranging from strategic decisions to confirmed injuries.
